RAM FUNCTION AND ITS SPECIFICATION

RAM or Random Access Memory is a main remembering for computer. RAM location is near with processor. It is important so that the data between RAM and processor can be delivered sensibly.

RAM function is to hold instruction and data which will be processed by processor. RAM is volatile character, that is for data which kept by RAM will lost if computer switched off.

In this case are many examples for it. For example of RAM usefulness, at the time you open this blog, your computer RAM is being filled by the data that explain this blog. But, the others will lose from RAM if computer switched off on that account; we need storage for the effect data storage.

DO YOU KNOW RAM?

Memory is device that its function is to process data or instruction. The greater memory which provided more and more data and instruction that can be processed.

RAM is a device that its function to save the data. RAM is tentative or saved data can be deleted. Difference with ROM, ROM has function that equals with RAM but ROM is permanent or saved data can't be deleted.

            Random Access Memory or RAM is a computer storage which its content can be accessed in the constant period; it is not care about data position is memory. This is variance with massage memory device, as tape of magnetic, disk and drum, whereabouts movement mechanical of storage media forces computer to access the data alternately.

It is first known in 1960. Just in that time, it is semiconductor memory and not yet popular because its price is very expensive. That time it is more common to use magnetic main memory. Semiconductor Company such as Intel begins its debut with produces RAM, more correct is DRUM type.

            RAM usually can be written and read, variance with Read Only Memory or ROM, RAM usually being used for main memory in computer to be used and changes information in an active manner, even several devices use some RAM type to provide a long-term secondary.

But there is also that opines that ROM is other type of RAM because its character that actually also random access as well as SRAM or DRUM. Just really writing process in ROM needs to special process that not easy and flexible as well as in SRAM or DRUM. Besides that, several parts of space address RAM of a system which is mapped into one or two ROM chip.

In technology world, a lot of computer hardware that we always need to use them, because they are very important and be invaluable aids our work in this life.

1.    CPU (Central Processing Unit)

It is a device that has a functioning as data processor. CPU contains combination of circuit that keeps processing instructions and save the data.

It is a device that can feature texts or image from data that being processed by CPU.

Printer is a device that produces output of data to print form such as text and also image.

6.    CD-ROM

It is an additional device that can save and write the data and program via CD media. This device is designed for write and read the data or program via optic system.

7.    Compact is Disk (CD)

Saving media that made in plastic stuff. Saving process and reading data use optic system.

8.    Scanner

Scanner is an assist device to insert data such as picture or graph and changes it into digital form so it gets to be processed and combined with data form that as text.

9.    USB Flasdiks

It is a data saving that liked by human because it is big and medley capacity

10. Hardddisk

Harddisk is an addition device to saving the data in a big capacity that is coated magnetically; now developing harddisk is very fast from energies accommodation and speed of reading data.

11. Floppy Disk

Floppy Disk is an addition device for saving and writing into diskette and also on the contrary, measure that generically been used is size 3,5 inches. And now, it is unsearchable.

There are many theories about hardware and software but according to me, they are as follow:

Hardware is device that hard and software is device that soft. That its translation. But also we can give the meaning as follows:

Hardware is hard tool or object that we can see, touch, hold and it has particular function. Physically there have shape. There is its form.

Hardware's device comprise of three types, which is:

1. Input device

The function of Input device is to insert data such as text, photo and also image into computer. The examples of input device are keyboard, the mouse, light pen, scanner, etc.

2. Output device

Output device used to take in data and result data that is issued such as monitor and printer.

3. Processor

Data processor device used to process data. Data processor covers central processor unit such as CPU or Central Processing Unit and also microprocessor.
